The Soviet-Japanese Border War was a brief but intense conflict that took place from May to September 1939. Despite its relatively short duration, the war saw significant action on both sides, particularly from the Soviet infantry. Red Army troops clashed with Japanese forces in eastern Siberia and Manchuria, resulting in heavy casualties for both armies. The Soviet infantry played a crucial role in the conflict, employing innovative tactics such as deep penetration and rapid redeployment to counter Japanese mobile warfare. Though ultimately declared a draw, the war exposed weaknesses in Soviet military doctrine.

The Soviets are also suitable for the Soviet-Japanese War and World War II.
