WWI British Cavalry with Lance weapon information.

The Pattern 1894 Lance ash shafted cavalry lance with very long socketed steel head. The wooden shaft is fitted with a white hide grip and leather protector. The lance was first adopted by the cavalry of the British Army in 1816 until its final withdrawal from service in 1927.
