Javis Manufacturing started in 1950 by Jim and Avis Bridge in a small shop in Stockport.  The company rapidly expanded from two storeys of the shop to purchasing all four floors. The premised served them well for a number of years until moving to a Mill in Stockport in 1973. They remained in these premises until 2005 when the company purchased a freehold single storey building in Reddish approx 3 miles from the old site.
